EnRich sponsored six members of the incredible Barnsley Youth Choir to enable the Choir to compete in the European Choir Games in Magdeburg in July 2015. The 58 singers selected to represent Great Britain and their supporters had a massive fund-raising task but managed to raise approximately £45,000 to allow these young people to have an amazing cultural and musical experience.
And they really did do us proud with world-beating results bringing home three gold medals!
Musical Director Mat Wright said: “Everyone involved in BYC is so proud.
“After only two competitions BYC is ranked 8th in the world in its category and 43 in the world out of thousands of choirs across all styles and genres. BYC actually beat the choir ranked third best in the world during the Grand Prix competition in Magdeburg.
“Without help from the incredible people of Barnsley – such as those supporting EnRich Charity – we could not have been on this amazing and inspiring journey.”
